About Harry

I've been playing music since I was 8 years old when my uncle lent me his old trombone. This led me to perform on stages at Glastonbury and Boomtown festivals, perform at the Royal Albert Hall and play with musicians all over the UK. I have loved teaching and I have found being open and honest is the best policy, there is nothing I've learned that I wouldn't want to share with my students. Music is a beautiful language and the more people that can be involved in it the more diverse and interesting it will be. So whoever you are, be it a beginner who's just picked up a guitar or someone who's become a bit stagnant in their playing and is looking for new ways to approach playing; I can be the teacher to help you.

About the lesson

I think the main focus of the lessons should be pointed toward the student's interests. I was taught classically for ten years and the lessons were very rigid and left very little room for me to express myself and what I wanted to do. I'll tailor any lesson to what the student likes and then I'll link any music theory and relate it to their interests. I give lessons of 30-60 mins as I find after 60 mins it's hard for the student to fully focus and take in any more information. I have taught for 10 years in primary and secondary schools whilst also teaching privately. I teach pupils any age and any ability, the main importance is that they're interested in the instrument and want to improve.
