About Lucia

I am a conductor, pianist and organist, currently working at the Purcell School as a Residential Practice Supervisor. I graduated with a first class degree from the University of Oxford, after having studied the organ and piano for several years at home in Slovakia. I am interested in both musicology and practical music-making and I enjoy connecting theoretical analytical knowledge with practical interpretation in orchestral conducting.

About the lesson

I teach ABRSM Grades 1-8 Piano and Organ, Grade 5 Music Theory, as well as GCSE and A-Level Music, working with students from 4- to 18-year-olds. I base my lessons on a balance of technical exercises, repertoire and fun exercises such as improvising harmonisation. I structure academic music lessons in a way that ensures revision of old material, explanation of new material, as well as inspiration through interesting additional material.

Lessons can be cancelled for free up to seven days prior to the lesson. Up to four days prior to the lesson, the lesson can be cancelled for a 50% fee. If a lesson is cancelled within three days before the date and time of the lesson, the cancellation fee is %100 of the cost of the lesson
