About Clemens
Clemens Gottwald (* 1995) started playing the trombone at the age of 8 in the music association of his home village Zimmerbach (near Schwäbisch Gmünd). At an early age he began to be enthusiastic about the most varied types of trombone playing and different styles of music and played in the wind orchestra, but also in big bands, jazz combos and classical wind ensembles. Clemens Gottwald has been working as a freelance music teacher for all brass instruments, as a music school teacher and as an ensemble leader since 2013. From 2012 to 2014 Clemens Gottwald received trombone lessons from Korber jazz trombonist Eberhard Budziat and in 2013 began a one-year intensive course in classical trombone, as well as choir and ensemble direction and cultural studies at the vocational school for music in the Middle Franconia district in Dinkelsbühl. Especially the lessons with Alfons Fischer had a lasting impact on Clemens Gottwald. From 2014-2019 he studied at the University of Music and Dance Cologne with Prof. Henning Berg and Max von Eine, where he was also supported by the Germany Scholarship. In addition, he received bass trombone lessons from Jan Schreiner.

I work with my students in a very individual way. Everyone has a different approach to music, different strengths and weaknesses. We try to identify these together in class and work on them in a targeted manner. The focus is on fun and motivation, because that's why people make music.
