About Vera

I’m a signed songwriter and producer with a publishing deal with Warner Chappell, and I’ve released many songs through Universal Music Group.

I also have an MA in Creative Music Production from ICMP, which I completed with Distinction and the Outstanding Student Award, and I now support current MA students there in 1:1 sessions and lectures. I work in Logic Pro and Ableton Live, with experience in Pro Tools, and I’m comfortable across the whole process: songwriting, recording, arranging, mixing, mastering and experimental sound manipulation.

What I love most is coaching artists towards their own vision: finding your sound and pushing your practice into new territory, though I enjoy working with beginners just as much. My MA work reflects that: my final project explored medieval music and earned 92%, and another, on analogue synthesisers and Motown vocals, earned 82%.

About the lesson

Lessons start with you: your music, your goals and where you want to take your sound. I specialise in coaching artists and producers to find their own sound, shape their artistic vision and innovate in their practice, but beginners are very welcome too. If you’re new, we start with the basics of Logic Pro or Ableton Live (setting up, recording, MIDI and workflow) and build up to arranging a full track. If you’re more experienced, we go deeper into mixing, mastering, sound design, analogue-style synthesis and experimental sound manipulation, and I can show you how the same ideas work in Pro Tools. For songwriting, we work on melody, lyrics, chords and structure, and on actually finishing songs, and I can teach music theory in a practical way that connects straight to the music you’re making.

I mix hands-on practice, listening exercises (we pull apart tracks you love) and clear feedback, and I’m happy to bring in unusual influences, from medieval music to Motown, to help you find your own sound. I can also help with portfolios for music production courses. Lessons are online, or in person at your home if you have your own setup. I don’t bring equipment, so we work on your gear. They’re friendly and relaxed, adapted to every student, including those with SEN, and questions are always welcome.
