About Enoch

I'm a professional violinist and violin teacher based in New York City, holding a Master of Music from NYU and a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from DePauw University.

My performance career spans Off-Broadway productions, international orchestral tours across Europe, and solo concert appearances in Taiwan and Japan — including a solo performance of Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade for thousands of audience members, and serving as concertmaster at the Vienna Musikverein and Munich Mozarteum.
I've been teaching violin for over five years across private studios, university programs, and group classes — working with students as young as 6 through adults. My undergraduate training included dedicated coursework in pedagogy and teaching methods, so I bring both rigorous professional experience and a structured, student-centered approach to every lesson.

Whether you're picking up the bow for the first time or preparing for an audition, I'll meet you where you are and build a clear path forward. I teach in person in NYC and online worldwide.

As a music-school-trained violinist with 20 years of experience, I tailor my lessons to each student's unique goals, whether it's mastering technique, preparing for exams, refining musical expression, or simply playing for enjoyment. My teaching approach blends structured guidance with flexibility, ensuring that students stay motivated while progressing at their own pace.

Teaching Method & Techniques:
I focus on building a strong technical foundation while developing musicality and self-expression. My lessons incorporate:

Proper posture, bowing, and fingering techniques to establish fluency and ease in playing.
Repertoire selection tailored to the student's level and interests, from classical to contemporary pieces.
Ear training and musical interpretation to develop phrasing, dynamics, and a deep connection to the music.
Practice strategies and problem-solving techniques to help students progress efficiently and build confidence.

A Typical Lesson Plan:
Before each lesson, I provide a customized lesson plan outlining key focus areas, which may include:

Warm-ups and technical exercises to refine bow control, intonation, and dexterity.
Repertoire work to apply techniques in musical context and develop expression.
Sight-reading and ear training for well-rounded musicianship.
Discussion and goal-setting to address specific challenges and plan effective practice routines.
I also leave room for discussion, allowing students to prioritize areas they wish to improve and actively shape their learning journey.
