About Sophie
I am a kind and compassionate teacher. I have been diagnosed with ADHD, so I am very receptive to neurodivergent students. I understand the difficulties that arise when learning an instrument - we all have to start somewhere! My wish is for my students to be able to learn in their own way, at their own pace as this is what I believe is the most conducive way towards creating an ongoing, lifelong relationship with music.
I make the lessons fun, neurodivergent-friendly (yes that's right, no berating you for forgetting to practise!) and my focus will always be on building your skills and confidence. If you're looking for a teacher who is understanding and will build you up, not break you down - that's me!

Singing:
Learn about warmups, vocal anatomy, pronunciation, singing harmonies, in a vocal lesson with me. Singing lessons are all about building confidence, learning proper technique, and learning how to use your unique voice.
Piano:
I teach the Simply Music curriculum. This method is practical and playing-based which makes it a good choice for all ages and abilities. Also a good option for neurodiverse students.
Acoustic Guitar:
All the basics to get you started playing guitar. Learn about chords, scales, how to be a great guitarist to back up a vocalist.
I recommend that students take 45 minute lessons. It's the perfect amount of time to go into a little more detail in your instrument without a huge time commitment.
I have over 4 years of teaching experience and love to see my students develop their confidence and shine.
