About Brian
As well as being a very experienced teacher, I'm a very experienced musician, producer and composer. I have toured Europe and the USA extensively with a number of Irish alternative and electronic acts (Meltybrains?, Talos), have recorded with many notable artists (Kingfishr, Anna B Savage) and have produced records for several musicians (Loah, Brídín). I have also written music for TV and film, included scores for ITV and Blip Publishing House. I also do a lot of work for theatre and dance and have written and performed with shows for a number of notable artists, in a range of different disciplines, including choreographers such as Emma Martin, writers such as Emmet Kirwan and aerial artists such as Kate Dunne.

I have an extensive range of teaching experience, as both a private music theory and lecturer with Technical University Dublin and have a range of lesson plans and approaches to match students at every level. I also have a BA in Music and an MA in Music Technology. I offer 30 or 60 minute lessons in piano, keyboard skills, music theory and music production, with a specific focus on the DAW Ableton Live. In the past, I have taught people at all ages and experience levels, from people who've never played an instrument before to professional musicians looking to upskill in a particular area.

Brian is a wonderful tutor, he is exceptionally helpful and knowledgable. I've had multiple lessons with him in Ableton over the past year and have found his classes to be so engaging and accessible.
I was very daunted by Ableton software when I began but thanks to Brian, he tailored each lesson to my ability and now I am much more confident in music production. I highly recommend him.View more recommendations
