About Mirianna

In 2019 I set up Audio Tutor, a female-led tutoring company specialising in providing a safe, inclusive environment for audio enthusiasts to learn and develop. Drawing from a rich spectrum of skills, gathered from my ongoing career as a producer and audio editor, my teaching methods are based around current industry-standard practices. Work History: After completing my degree in Music Technology, I began a career in music production. Working as a mentor, project manager, and producer, I have produced commercial releases for many artists in and around Bristol. Over the years, I have built a strong network within the industry and have developed connections with many talented individuals. In addition to my work in recording & music production, I also work as a senior audio editor in podcasting and have been involved in numerous projects for high-profile clients and companies, including the BBC. About the lesson

I offer lessons that are tailored to beginners up to university level, whether you're a musician who wants to learn your own recording skills or a complete beginner who is interested in learning more about the industry. My lessons cover a range of topics including microphone placement, polar patterns, session management, recording techniques, the recording chain, using the mixing desk and recording with Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Ableton (or any DAW). Some of our lessons will be in a classroom environment discussing the theory behind microphone placement and polar patterns. Still, the majority of our lessons will be in a studio environment. This means you gain valuable studio experience where you can be hands-on, developing your skills and putting together your own projects with my support. I encourage all my students to have a project in mind that they wish to execute, or to bring along something practical they would like to work on. This allows us to measure progress and inspires the student to create something tangible that they can see developing before them. Previous clients have written and recorded EPs, gaining the experience of working with actual musicians. Some clients already work in the industry and need help with specific tasks such as how to edit a voice-over for a podcast, for example. It's very much down to the student to pick what they would like to work on together. Our first lesson will be a 30min free consultation so we can get to know each other, we'll talk about your needs and I'll assess where to begin. The lessons are very much tailored to your needs so it's important you tell me exactly what you already know and what you want to improve on. I then put a lesson plan in place and talk you through my ideas. We can make any changes you'd like to the lesson plan, I aim to make lessons fun and engaging and I'm extremely flexible. I'm conveniently located in Bristol and have access to a studio with brilliant facilities that we can book and use without extra cost.
