About Fionnuala

South Yorkshire based string teacher with a passion for teaching mature students. With over 20 years of experience teaching Cello, Violin, and Viola, I bring a deep understanding of string technique, musical expression, and effective learning strategies tailored to each student. My approach is patient, professional, and encouraging, ensuring that mature learners feel supported at every stage of their musical journey. Whether you're a beginner or refining your skills, I create a structured yet enjoyable learning environment that builds confidence and mastery. My commitment to excellence and passion for teaching will empower you to achieve your goals with skill and artistry

About the lesson

Learning an instrument is not just about mastering the techniques, the notes and the rhythms (although that is a big part of it) - I find that it is a really great way to relax and to express myself and unwind, especially after I've had a long day. With me you will find a space to learn and also a space to express yourself and find joy. So let's have fun and make some beautiful music together, whether you are a complete beginner or a more advanced player that has returned to their instrument after a long separation, with low confidence. Are you ready to tune in?.....let's get started! Cello Beginner - Grade 8 Violin Beginner- Grade 3 Viola Beginner - Grade 3 Theory of music Beginner - Grade 5
