About the lesson

My name is Rebecca and I am a qualified and experienced languages teacher in secondary education. I hold an upper-class honours degree (2:1) in English and French Studies from the University of Birmingham, including a Distinction in spoken French, and qualifications in Education to Masters level. I am friendly, hard-working and highly passionate about languages and hold expertise teaching French at KS3, GCSE and A level as well as Spanish to KS3.

Since graduating from the University of Birmingham, I have worked as a passionate Teacher of French and Spanish in two London schools, achieving 'Outstanding' teaching at the end of my first year. I have gained significant experience in classroom teaching and have extensive knowledge of the national curriculum and examination board requirements for languages. I have also taught English as a foreign language in France and have previous experience tutoring French.

I believe that motivation, a sense of achievement and fun are essential to the successful learning of languages and I instil this into my teaching approach. I also work to tailor lessons to suit the aims, needs and learning styles of my students. I am confident in both preparing students for an examination, or in simply furthering a student's skills and passion for a language.

Alongside my passion for languages, I love to travel and have spent long periods of time in other countries across Europe, Asia and North America. I am also a keen pianist and singer and enjoy swimming and hiking.
