About Advika
Hi! I'm a high school senior offering elementary and middle schoolers lessons in singing, piano, and harmonium.
I have been learning piano and Hindustani classical singing for 11 years and Western classical singing for 7 years. I have been selected for the NAfME All-National, Maryland All-State, and Mont. County Honor Choruses. I've also been in my school's chamber chorus for all of high school, and we have performed at the White House and county events.
For some background, I am a high school IB diploma student in Maryland. I have a younger brother in elementary school and I enjoy teaching and working with children!

Location: My home, virtual (Zoom), or your home if closeby. :)
We will meet briefly at no cost to discuss your student's goals and experience level. Accordingly, our lessons will begin with an exploration of singing techniques and basics appropriate to the genre your student is interested in. We will spend 10 minutes warming up (extremely important for singers), work section-by-section through 1-2 selected pieces of repertoire, then assign key points to practice. The student will work on each piece for about 2-3 weeks, as we will implement techniques in action and observe the choices of other singers performing the piece.
Goals: Perfect for elementary/middle schoolers interested in gauging their interest in singing/piano, staying in practice, and refining their skills.
Student-to-student teaching: Works well for anyone looking for flexibility with lessons, low prices, a more personal connection between the student and tutor, and experience auditioning for current honor choirs and musical extracurriculars.
