About Monica

I am a Native Argentine with a Bachelor's degree in PE (with years of PE teaching experience) and a passion for teaching the Spanish language! I have tutored people from various backgrounds, including UK GCSE students, high school students, adults, and my own children as part of their home education. I currently tutor GCSE Spanish online. I have a real passion for Argentine Spanish, the beautiful Castellano accent, which is my mother tongue. Spoken by the likes of Anya Taylor-Joy, Meghan Markle, Robert De Niro, and Michael Bublé to name just a few. I also teach European Spanish, particularly for GCSE students. Whichever type of Spanish you choose to learn with me, Argentine or European, I aim to help you achieve your language learning goals in an enjoyable, well-rounded, comprehensive way!

About the lesson

I teach both Argentine (Castellano) and European Spanish. I like to present my lessons in a way that is engaging, dynamic and with a practical focus on functional grammar and vocabulary to enhance true proficiency. All in a relaxed manner, while having fun — as it should be! A typical lesson from me will include: • New vocabulary applied in real-world sentences • Practical rules of grammar • A focus on key communication skills • Encouraging correct pronunciation; focusing on the tricky vowels and consonants • Interactive conversation (role play) For those of you studying towards exams (for example GCSEs) I am flexible and can adapt my lessons to your specific requirements, including using the material you are already learning from. I enjoy working with children especially. Having experience with teaching PE to little kids, I understand how they approach learning through play and transfer that to my Spanish tutoring.
