About Karina
Hello! My name is Karina. I’m originally from Brazil and currently live in London. I have a degree in English Language Teaching and experience teaching learners from different professional and academic backgrounds, including university professors.
I have also lived and worked as a teacher in Turkey. Having built a life in different countries, I understand firsthand both the excitement and the challenges of learning a language and adapting to a new culture. I speak Portuguese and English fluently, and I also speak Spanish and Turkish.
I’m naturally friendly, patient and curious about people and cultures. I love helping others communicate with confidence and sharing the language, warmth and richness of Brazilian culture along the way. I want my students to feel supported and comfortable, regardless of their age or starting level.

My lessons are personalised around each student’s age, goals, interests and learning style. I use a practical and communicative approach to help students develop the confidence to use Portuguese in real-life situations.
We will work on speaking, listening, pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar through conversation, reading, practical exercises and cultural topics. For children, lessons can also include games, stories, visuals and interactive activities to make learning engaging and age-appropriate.
My lessons are suitable for children, teenagers and adults, from complete beginners to advanced learners. Each class is structured but relaxed, with content and pace adapted as the student progresses. Most importantly, I want everyone to feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions and speaking Portuguese from the very beginning.
