About Eenan
I’m a native Mandarin speaker from Nanjing, China, now based in Dublin. I also work as an actor and filmmaker. I’ve always had a strong interest in languages, and, not gonna lie, I’ve been pretty good at learning them since I was a kid.
Over the past decade, I’ve lived and studied in both Boston and Dublin. I’ve experienced first-hand the frustrations that come with language barriers, but also the thrill and pride of mastering a non-native language. Being able to express yourself fluently, and having people genuinely impressed by your command of a second language, is a really special feeling.
Being bilingual has also shown me how much learning a language can actually change the way your brain works—your world genuinely expands, not just in communication, but in how you see and understand things.
I’d love to share that same sense of joy and confidence with people on their Mandarin learning journey.

I’m a native Mandarin speaker from Nanjing, China, with four years of tutoring experience since my university days. I also studied Linguistics out of personal interest, which has really shaped how I think about language learning and teaching.
From my own experience learning English and other languages, I’ve realized that patterns, practical application, and contextual understanding are far more effective than robotic memorization. When you truly understand how the language works, you don’t need to force yourself to remember vocabulary or grammar rules—the right words and structures will come to you naturally.
A big part of my teaching is built around learning through TV, film, and music, along with reading novels and news. This is exactly how I improved my English in a way that felt much more effortless, and it’s the approach I bring into my lessons. I like to make classes engaging, practical, and rooted in how Mandarin is actually used in real life.
Lessons are typically one hour long and tailored to your goals and pace. I teach students aged 15–40, covering all levels from complete beginners to advanced learners (HSK 1–6). Whether you’re learning for exams, travel, work, or just personal interest, I aim to make the process intuitive and enjoyable.

Eenan is my girlfriend, and she's the reason why I began learning Mandarin two years ago. Well, actually, wanting to impress her parents was the real reason, but she's definitely the reason why I've been able to keep with it and progress as much as I have.
She manages to take something that always gave me so much anxiety in school, i.e., learning a new language, and manages to make it fun, rewarding, and endlessly interesting.
Eenan has a genuine passion for Chinese language and culture, loving nothing more than breaking a word down into its basic etymological context or finding inventive ways of conveying the intended meaning of any of the innumerable and often hilarious Chinese idioms that I come across.
She's a natural communicator with a creative flair that's hard to come by. I'm very lucky to have her as a teacher, and so will you be. 谢谢老师!!!I started learning Mandarin with Eenan as a complete beginner and the progress I've made has genuinely surprised me. She has a great way of breaking things down — patient, clear, and always keeping the lessons engaging. What I appreciated most was how she tailored the pace to where I was at, never making me feel rushed. I'd highly recommend her to anyone looking to learn Chinese in a relaxed but focused environment.
