In my classroom teaching, the first is basic vocabulary and grammar teaching: starting with basic vocabulary and daily expressions, build up an understanding of basic grammatical structures. Through simple dialogue exercises, help my students become familiar with common expressions and sentence patterns.
The second is listening and pronunciation practice: provide my students with listening materials, such as simple dialogues, songs or phonetic teaching materials, and even some Chinese TV series and movies, to help them improve their listening comprehension skills. Encourage them to imitate the correct pronunciation and intonation, especially the use of the four tones and modal particles in Chinese.
There is also practice and communication: by organizing role-playing or daily situation simulations, let them practice applying Chinese in real life. If they are interested in Chinese culture, I will also explain the cultural background and habits: I will introduce them to the cultural background and habits of China to help them better understand the background and meaning of language use. Share some interesting cultural stories or customs of traditional Chinese festivals to increase their interest in learning Chinese.
In my courses, I will understand the learning rhythm and habits of each learner and flexibly adjust the teaching methods. Be patient and encouraging for difficulties and mistakes in the learning process to help them overcome obstacles.
