About Yujing
I am a native Chinese speaker born and raised in China, and I am familiar with southern Chinese dialects. I will introduce you to various aspects of the Chinese language, such as how it has evolved from ancient pictographs to the simplified characters used by most people today, and the traditional characters still used by a small group. We will appreciate ancient poetry and also use modern articles, TV shows, and songs to help you learn Chinese and develop a sense of the language. During our lessons, I will try to converse with you in simple Chinese to help you better immerse in the Chinese environment.

She will play songs and leaves some blanks for me to fill in with the Chinese words I hear. She also show some movies, of course in Chinese, and we learn as we watch together.
Yujing is a great teacher. She does not only have class indoors, she takes me out to experience various aspects of life. For example, she teaches me Chinese vocabulary related to the park while we are actually in the park. This approach feels more engaging than just looking at pictures and helps me remember the Chinese words better.
