About Leyao

I am currently a college student enrolled in a biology program. Before coming to Canada I lived in a small, beautiful country in Central America for 7 years, where I learned English and a little bit of Spanish, and learned about the people and history of the country. Before that I lived in China, where I was born and raised with a traditional Chinese education, which has allowed me to cover a wide range of languages, including Mandarin, Cantonese, English, and Spanish, and I have also learned a little bit of French in the year I have been in Canada. I have found that more and more people are curious about Chinese and want to learn this language, so I would like to teach my knowledge of Chinese to more people.

About the lesson

I am a very patient person and will teach my siblings Chinese and English at home. I know how to get students interested and motivated to learn Chinese quickly, because I know that people's interest and curiosity is the most important factor for them to understand something. I have received a good education in China, which has helped me not only to become fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese, but also to learn about the Chinese culture. I want to help people who are interested in this country or culture to know more about it.
