About Alicia Rae
From the United States, but having lived in Malaysia for four years, English is my native language.
My early academic and professional career began in clinical social work (compassionate, human-centered, and socially progressive), and I later transitioned into business administration and project management (professional, structured, and organized), and I am currently pursuing a PhD at a Malaysian university.
Outside of study/work, I enjoy engaging with nature (hiking the jungles, sunbathing on the beach, absorbing the beauty of paddy fields), perusing the local morning markets, or attending poetry and literary workshops or live music events with friends.
As a Native American (Orang Asli), I enjoy partaking in my cultural ceremonies and traditional practices, and am deeply rooted in anti-colonial ideologies, fighting for social justice beginning with the liberation of Palestine.
I have a cheery attitude, an eagerness to connect, and I delight in skill-sharing.

Specializing in conversational English, I help students master the English language with greater confidence, whether for casual conversations with friends, while traveling, or for more formal purposes within study or work environments.
My teaching philosophy is you-centric, and rooted in a desire to ensure you feel comfortable and confident in your progress. I am patient, organized, supportive, and encouraging. My teaching approach is organized, and I come well-prepared, but am committed to tailoring my instruction to meet your individual needs.
Lessons will be structured, but structure doesn't replace fun, as I bring a positive, engaging, and bubbly disposition.
