Hello! My name is Stephanie, and I'm a native European Portuguese speaker with a genuine passion for languages, education, and helping others achieve their goals.
My journey into tutoring began through my love of language and communication. Having experienced the challenges and rewards of learning languages myself, I understand that every student learns differently. This inspired me to start teaching and develop lessons that are clear, engaging, and tailored to each individual's needs.
Over the years, I have worked with students of different ages and backgrounds and seeing my students grow in confidence and achieve their goals is what motivates me most.

I believe that learning a language should be practical, engaging, and tailored to each student's goals. Every lesson is personalised to suit the learner's level, whether they are preparing for GCSEs, A-Levels, university exams, work, travel, or simply learning Portuguese for personal interest.
My teaching approach combines grammar, vocabulary, speaking, listening, reading, and writing in a structured yet interactive way. I explain grammar clearly using real-life examples before reinforcing it through a variety of exercises and conversation. I also place a strong emphasis on pronunciation, helping students develop a natural European Portuguese accent and build confidence in speaking from the very beginning.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although 90 minute and 2 hour sessions are also available for students who prefer more intensive study or exam preparation.
I am a native Portuguese speaker having grown up in Portugal. I have experience teaching learners of different ages and abilities. I have worked with GCSE, A-Level, and university students, as well as adults learning Portuguese for work, travel, or relocation. My experience has enabled me to develop effective teaching materials and adapt my methodology to suit each learner's pace and learning style.
My lessons are suitable for:
- Beginners with no prior knowledge of Portuguese.
- GCSE and A-Level students.
- University students.
- Adults of all ages.
- Learners looking to improve conversation, grammar, pronunciation, reading, and writing.
- Students preparing for exams or planning to live, work, or travel in Portugal.
My goal is to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and steadily building their confidence and fluency in European Portuguese.
