About Salome

I was born and raised in France and studied there until university, when I moved to Hungary and then later to the UK. I have a background in arts and humanities, studying Language Practices at the French Beaux-Arts and then later Writing at the Royal College of Art, in London. I write a lot about education and particularly art education for journals and publications, and wrote my entire master's thesis on schools! I am really passionate about learning but I also know school can be frustrating and not always the best place to develop a tailored, individual learning method. I've found that most of the people, especially teenagers, who think they have a problem with learning actually just have an issue with school. We all have different abilities and learning preferences and I'm very dedicated to helping students find what works for them.

About the lesson

I usually recommend lessons of one to two hours depending on the age of the student and their attention span. I adjust the content of my lessons and the theory/practice ratio depending on whether the student is a native/bilingual speaker trying to practise grammar and literary knowledge ahead of school tests or is learning French as a foreign language. I have worked with students aged 6 to 17, in many contexts: preparation ahead of a specific test or exam, general practice, help with French homework...and can adjust to students with specific learning disabilities, including using dyslexia-friendly methods. I am also very happy to teach adults looking into learning French as a hobby or work requirement! I can focus the lessons on a specific area of language or on a specific theme depending on your aim.
