About Romain

I hold a Master's degree in Political Science from Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University and a Master's degree in Law from the University of Bordeaux, obtained with first-class honours. I worked as a lawyer and part-time law lecturer at the university for ten years, but I recently decided to make a life change. Having always had a passion for teaching, the French language, and travelling, I chose to move to Bristol and become a French teacher. I am currently training for the DAEFLE (diploma of aptitude for teaching French as a foreign language), a qualification provided by the Alliance Française.

About the lesson

My approach is interactive, immersive, and student-centred. I focus on real-life communication, cultural context, and progressive skill-building in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. I use a variety of materials (texts, articles, poems, videos, songs, podcasts, radio programmes) to make each lesson dynamic and engaging. I also adapt to your preferred learning pace and can provide homework or revision tips if requested. A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, but I can offer shorter or longer sessions depending on your availability and objectives. Each class includes a warm-up, a focus on a specific theme or grammar point, and practical application through conversation or activities. My lessons are suitable for learners of all levels and ages: – Complete beginners who want to start from scratch – Intermediate learners aiming to improve fluency and accuracy – Advanced students preparing for exams, job interviews, or travel – Children, teens, university students, or adults—everyone is welcome! Whether you're learning for school, work, travel, or personal interest, I’d be happy to help you learn French.
