About Kamila
Hi! My name is Kamila, and I'm a native Indonesian speaker currently studying Social Work at the University of Western Australia.
Growing up in Indonesia before moving to Australia has given me a unique perspective on both languages and cultures. Having experienced what it feels like to learn and communicate in a second language myself, I understand that learning a new language can be exciting, challenging, and sometimes intimidating. My goal is to make it fun, practical, and enjoyable for you.
Teaching has always been something meaningful to me. I believe learning is not just about gaining knowledge, but also about creating an environment where students feel motivated and comfortable to make mistakes. My experience as a Teacher Assistant has made me value patience, encouragement, and adapting to different learning styles.

I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to your goals, current level, and preferred learning style. At the beginning of our lessons, we'll discuss what you'd like to achieve and create a learning plan together. Whether you're learning Indonesian for travel, university, work, or personal interest, I'll adapt the pace and lesson content to suit your needs.
Lessons typically last between 1 and 2 hours, depending on your preferences and learning goals. I aim to make every session engaging and enjoyable by incorporating interactive activities, games, storytelling, relevant news, and real-life conversations whenever appropriate. Rather than simply memorizing vocabulary and grammar, my goal is to help you enjoy learning Indonesian and English while building the confidence to use it in everyday situations.
I also believe students should have a say in how they learn. I encourage your feedback throughout our lessons so we can adjust the teaching style and activities.
