About Anna Lia

I am an Italian native speaker, I got my Ph.D. in Ca Foscari University (Venice) in Foreign Language Teaching, I also have an MA from the same university in Foreign Language Teaching and a BA from Pisa University in Foreign Language and Literature. I have taught at University (Italy, Turkey and Sweden), Italian Language, Linguistics, Language Acquisition, language testing and Intercultural communications. I have started to do private tutoring last year and I find it amazingly rewarding.

About the lesson

In my class I have embraced a positive education approach, I value students' strengths and I help the students to use them in their learning process. I believe that with me students learn a lifelong learning approach that they can apply also in other areas of their life and study. My lessons are tailored to students' needs so before starting the first class I try to learn about the students, their learning styles, their goals, and the class is held in a warm atmosphere. You learn better when you are relaxed and you enjoy yourself. With 30 years of experience, the last 25 as a university lecturer, I am confident I can teach any level, I can also prepare you for professional exams like Ditals or Cedils to become a teacher of Italian to foreigners. I often help students struggling with their BA, MA or Ph.D. dissertation.
