About Carlotta
Ciao! I’m Carlotta, a native Italian speaker originally from Turin and now living in Scotland. I have a degree in Chinese Language and Literature from the University of Turin and a strong background in languages, international communication, education and cultural projects.
I have previously taught Italian to Chinese students, taught French, and provided private tuition in several subjects. I also spent many years working in international arts and cultural organisations, where I regularly used languages and worked with people from different countries and backgrounds.
I enjoy languages because they are not only about grammar and vocabulary, but also about communication, culture and connecting with people. I would like to help students learn Italian in a relaxed and encouraging way, building confidence while discovering more about Italian language, culture and everyday life.

My lessons are friendly, practical and adapted to each student's goals and interests. I believe that learning a language should feel enjoyable and that students should feel comfortable speaking and making mistakes.
We can focus on conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary and everyday Italian, while introducing grammar naturally when it is useful. For beginners, I can provide more structure and gradually build confidence; for students who already know some Italian, we can concentrate more on conversation and fluency.
A typical lesson is 60 minutes, although this can be adapted if needed.
I am a native Italian speaker with a degree from the University of Turin and previous experience teaching Italian to Chinese students, teaching French, and providing private tuition.
My lessons are particularly suitable for adults, from complete beginners to intermediate learners, including people learning Italian for travel, personal interest or simply to become more confident speaking the language.
