About Rie
I am passionate about helping people learn Japanese in a fun, supportive, and practical way. I believe that language learning is most effective when students feel comfortable and confident, so I always create lessons that match each student's goals, interests, and learning style.
In addition to teaching the Japanese language, I enjoy introducing students to Japanese culture, traditions, customs, and everyday life. My goal is to help students not only speak Japanese but also gain a deeper understanding of Japan and its people.

My lessons are personalized to match each student's goals, interests, and learning pace. I use a communicative teaching approach that combines conversation, grammar, vocabulary, and listening practice with Japanese culture and everyday expressions to make learning practical and enjoyable.
A typical lesson includes a review of previous material, new language practice, speaking activities, and useful cultural topics. Lessons can also be tailored for JLPT preparation, travel, business, or daily conversation.
As a native Japanese teacher with over eight years of teaching experience, I create a friendly and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence.
My lessons are for learners of all levels, from complete beginners to advanced students. I offer both in-person lessons in the Chagrin Falls area and online lessons.
