About Haixin
Hi! I’m Andrew/海新(Haixin), a native Mandarin speaker from China with Putonghua Proficiency Test Level 1 and a professional background in broadcasting and speech.
I’m currently studying a Master of Teaching (Secondary) at QUT and have over two years of teaching experience.
I have Pacific Islander heritage and enjoy languages, theatre, music and film, as well as connecting with students from different cultural backgrounds.

I have experience teaching Chinese, Shanghainese, Mandarin pronunciation, public speaking, and speech & performance skills. My professional training has given me a strong foundation in Mandarin pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, Chinese language and literature, and Chinese culture.
Through my Master of Teaching, I am further developing my knowledge of pedagogy, curriculum & assessment design and effective language teaching.
I tailor lessons to each student’s level and goals, whether they want to develop their overall Chinese skills, prepare for HSK, or focus on pronunciation and language expression.
