About Shihao
I grew up attending international schools in the UK, Korea, and China, where my classmates were from all over the world. As a native Mandarin speaker raised in a multilingual environment, I developed a unique sensitivity to how foreigners speak Chinese. I don’t just teach textbook Mandarin—I help you sound natural and be understood. I know which pronunciation quirks are harmless, and which ones can confuse your listener. I teach because I enjoy helping learners build the confidence to speak real, flowing Chinese that fits their personality.

My 50-minute Mandarin speaking lessons are designed for learners who want to speak naturally, not robotically. I specialize in helping English speakers improve their fluency by focusing on real conversation, cultural context, and targeted pronunciation correction—only when necessary. With my background growing up in international schools, I deeply understand how foreigners think when speaking Chinese. My goal is to help you say things the way native speakers actually do—without overcorrecting your accent. I teach adults and teens, and I also offer small-group conversation sessions for extra practice and confidence-building.
