About Nova
Hi! I’m a native Mandarin speaker from China, just finished my MA at SOAS, University of London. My research focuses on Chinese religion and philosophy, which informs my teaching style and content. I hold a top-level Mandarin proficiency certificate and have a strong background in classical Chinese and writing. Whether you're learning daily conversation, literary writing, classical Chinese (文言文), or even Chinese philosophy, I’d love to support your journey. I offer personalised Mandarin lessons for children, exam-focused learners, and adults looking to improve their speaking or writing. Lessons are usually 1 hour, online. I focus on standard pronunciation, practical communication and cultural understanding. Every class is adapted to the student’s needs and level — whether for school exams, daily conversation, or building confidence. I can also teach classical Chinese (文言文) and traditional poetry for students interested in ancient texts and cultural depth.
