About Roxy

I'm Roxy, a native Spanish speaker from Peru, now living in the UK. I’ve always loved languages, communication and helping people understand things, and I genuinely enjoy seeing that “aha!” moment when something suddenly clicks.

My professional background is in Computer Science and Systems Engineering, so I’m naturally organised and structured, but I’m also very sociable and love music, dancing and Latin culture. I’m especially passionate about making Spanish feel practical, enjoyable and relevant to everyday life rather than something you simply study from a textbook.

I decided to start teaching because I’ve realised that explaining things clearly comes very naturally to me. I recently found myself helping people with Spanish and was encouraged to turn that into something I could share with others.

Whether you're learning Spanish for yourself, for your children, for travel, for a relationship, or simply because you love the language and culture, I’d love to help you feel more confident using it.

I believe learning a language should open a door to another culture and another way of connecting with people - and it should be fun along the way

About the lesson

I’m a native Spanish speaker from Peru, and I offer friendly, practical Spanish lessons for both adults and children.

My approach is different from traditional language learning. Rather than focusing only on textbooks and memorising grammar, I want you to feel comfortable actually understanding and speaking Spanish in real life.

Whether you’re starting from scratch, want to improve your conversational Spanish, are preparing for a holiday, have Spanish-speaking family or simply love Spanish and Latin American culture, I’ll tailor the lessons around your goals and level.

I'm naturally very structured and organised, and my background as an engineer means I enjoy breaking things down clearly and making complicated things easier to understand. I also love languages, music and Latin culture, so I like bringing real-life situations, conversation and culture into lessons.
