About the lesson

Hey ! I'm Tenga, and ifit's your first time hearing this name, it's because it's japanese.

I'm an engineering student at top French school Centrale-Supélec, part of Université Paris-Saclay.

I hear you wondering "Why on earth would a mathematician/physicist teach me Japanese?", and it's a very legitimate question.

Well, simply because I love languages (I am quadrilingual in French/Japanese/English/Spanish) and I love teaching them even more.
Japanese is one of my mother tongues and I speak it perfectly. It's often seen as a difficult language with all the characters, the 28 ways of saying "I" and all the rest, but in the end it's not so hard if you do it correctly :)

Since I learned Japanese as a child, I know what works and what is more frustrating than anything else. That's why we're going to start by looking at your personal goals: what do you want? Improve your vocabulary? Your pronunciation? Writing or speaking?

The course will be based on the answers to these questions (of course, you can do everything at once too!).

For example, going through kanji is unavoidable if you want to be able to read or write, it may be superfluous if you just want to be fluent.

Speaking of speaking, I will obviously be your daily interlocutor because there is nothing like practice to improve!

I have experience with the language: not only do I speak it fluently, but I have also done translation work from English to Japanese to French with the assistance of a professional interpreter.

The format of the course will depend on what you want to work on, so if you want to discuss it, don't hesitate to send me a message!
