About Sally

I am a secondary language teacher and I love languages in general, but particularly my native language German. German has a reputation of being harsh and difficult to learn, but it can be fun and once you master certain aspects of it, it can really boost your confidence. Since having children I don’t work in schools anymore but I love being able to keep providing German lessons from home and during after-school hours. I have tutored both school students and adults.

Travel Fee: I charge £5 for travel within Stockport or a 10km / 6mile radius. For longer travel distances a higher travel fee will incur. Example: Travel to Altrincham £10.

About the lesson

Initially, I assess the student’s level across different areas (reading, writing, speaking and listening). I then provide tailored lessons that aim to work towards the student’s individual learning goal, for example to achieve a certain grade in GCSE exams. I like to focus on pronunciation practise and give students a solid set of vocabulary and phrases that elevate their language quality. Please note, for GCSE and A level my experience is with the AQA exam board, although I am happy to prepare for other exam boards if required.

First Lesson Free: I provide a free initial lesson of 30 minute duration. To get the most out of this lesson, provide me with details of where you’re at on your language journey so that I can tailor this lesson as best as possible. I’m also happy to teach based on a specific learning request for this lesson.

My rate includes the teaching session and 30-45 minutes required for lesson preparation. Printing and material costs included. I do not sell additional resources but I am happy to provide recommendations for workbooks etc. that can be used outside of lessons.
