About Samantha
Hi! I’m Samantha, a neuroscience student on the pre-med track with a strong passion for education and helping students succeed. I have several years of experience working with students, including serving as a virtual literacy tutor where I support elementary and middle school students in developing reading comprehension, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills. Through this work, I’ve developed a teaching style that is patient, encouraging, and focused on building confidence.
I enjoy helping students break down challenging concepts in science, math, and reading into clear and manageable steps. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them develop stronger study habits and feel more confident in their abilities.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy exercising, cooking, reading, traveling, and learning about neuroscience and education. I believe curiosity and a love for learning are powerful tools, and I strive to bring that same energy into every tutoring session.

My tutoring approach focuses on helping students build confidence, curiosity, and strong foundational skills. I break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps and guide students through the reasoning process so they can solve problems independently. I adapt my teaching style to each student’s learning needs, using explanations, visual examples, and interactive discussion to make concepts easier to understand.
A typical lesson includes a quick review of previous material, an explanation of key concepts, guided practice solving problems together, and independent practice so students can apply what they’ve learned. I also provide feedback and strategies to help students improve their study and problem-solving skills.
What sets me apart is my commitment to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes. I aim to not only improve academic performance but also help students develop lasting confidence in their abilities.
I work primarily with middle school and high school students in science, math, and reading, including students who need extra support with foundational concepts as well as those looking to strengthen their study skills and comprehension.
