About Nitin

Nitin Agarwal, M.D. has been helping students realize their academic ambitions for over 10 years. His initial experience with standardized test preparation was with his successful completion of the Secondary School Admission Test obtaining him admission to The Lawrenceville School in New Jersey. He then scored in the 99% Percentile for the SAT (800 Verbal, 770 Math, 12 Writing).

Dr. Agarwal then earned his doctorate of medicine after completing the 7-Year Accelerated B.S. / M.D. program offered in conjunction by The College of New Jersey and Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. His experience with accelerated and combined degree programs has enabled him to offer college counseling services in this specialized field.

Currently, Dr. Agarwal is a Neurological Surgery resident at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. His funded research activities focus on improving patient education to optimize patient outcomes. To date, he has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles and 10 book chapters and has spoken at several regional and national conferences, with over 100 oral and poster presentations. His health literary related research has been published in several high impact factor journals including JAMA Internal Medicine and featured by prominent healthcare oriented news outlets such as Reuters Health. He is also the co-editor of the book The Evolution of Health Literacy: Empowering Patients through Improved Education. In October of 2018, his multi-contributor guide for aspiring neurosurgeons, Neurosurgery Fundamentals, was released by Thieme Medical Publishers. Dr. Agarwal’s publications can be reviewed through the National Library of Medicine’s publication database.

About the lesson

Thank you for your interest in our Standardized Test Prep Services. Our approach is simple and clear - individualized tutoring. Why is this approach best? Large companies such as the Princeton Review never fully are able to pinpoint your child's specific needs in their large classroom prep courses. Private tutoring lessons allow for a flexible schedule to fit your and more importantly, your child's needs.

During duration of your child’s personalized prep course, typically designed to last at least five sessions, your personal tutor will oversee all of your child’s individual academic needs. Each session is two hours long whereby material from all three sections will be covered. Together we will put together a customized schedule to best address and work on improving your child’s test taking abilities.

Homework is assigned at each session for each section of the SAT or ACT. Generally, students will be expected to allot approximately thirty to sixty minutes to studying on a daily basis. In addition, your child will be expected to complete a full practice test given approximately every three to four weeks. Practice is essential to make sure that during the real exam, anxiety will not be a detrimental factor hindering your child from achieving a perfect score.
