About Joshua
I hold a degree in Chemistry and Mathematics with three years of tutoring experience at university level. I am passionate about helping students discover that mathematics and science are not subjects to be memorised, but understood. I build confidence by helping students develop a strong foundation in the underlying principles behind each topic. Instead of just demonstrating solutions, I encourage students to think critically, ask questions, and reason their way through problems. I believe that once a concept is truly understood, applying it to new and unfamiliar questions becomes far less intimidating.
After all, maths and science is a game - Once you understand the rules, it becomes easier to play.

I offer relaxed, interactive mathematics and science lessons that focus on developing genuine understanding rather than memorisation. My teaching approach is hands-on and encourages students to think critically about concepts, definitions, and problem-solving strategies so they can confidently apply their knowledge to unfamiliar questions.
I am proficient in English and teach all lessons in English. During a typical lesson, students can expect to be actively involved through regular questions that assess their understanding, guided discussions, and plenty of worked examples. Students are welcome to bring homework, tutorials, past papers, or specific problem areas, and we will work through them together step by step.
My lessons are designed to create a supportive environment where mistakes are viewed as an essential part of the learning process. By identifying misconceptions early and building strong foundational knowledge, I help students gain confidence and develop the independent thinking skills needed for long-term success. My lessons are suitable for learners who want to strengthen their understanding, improve their results, or prepare for tests and examinations in mathematics and science.
