About Eva

I am a trained actor and alongside working as an actor, I have been teaching for almost 30 years - Norwegian, drama, and communication.
At the moment I teach Norwegian at University of Westminster and City Lit Institute. I also teach private students from all over the world.

I was head of a drama school for children and young people in Norway for many years and during these years, I also started teaching Norwegian, as I had many students who had moved to Norway from abroad and didn’t know the language.
For 5 years I was an Artistic Director of a theatre, producing professional work for children and young people.

6 years ago, I moved to London, where I work as an actor, voice-over artist, teacher and writer. I continue teaching Norwegian as this is something I love. I must admit I find it very hart warming that someone wants to learn my language!

About the lesson

I always have an initial chat with a new student to find out why they want to learn Norwegian, what they want to achieve, and what their preferred style of learning is. After that, it is much easier to construct a tailored plan to suit the student’s individual needs and wishes.
I try to create an inspiring and safe learning environment, using a variety of methods and exercises to make sure the training is always fun, relaxed, and efficient.
Although I always work from a structured plan, I adapt it continuously as we go along, to make sure we move forward in a tempo and manner that is most beneficial for the student.
I have a great passion for teaching and find it hugely rewarding to see learners develop their skills and express themselves with growing confidence in a new language.
Learning a language is so much more than understanding the grammar and memorizing words – it is taking in and embracing a whole new culture, and it is an amazing privilege to be part of this process as a teacher.
