About Sophia

Hello!
My name is Sophia Bassett, and I am a freshman nursing student at Wayne State University. I graduated in 2026 with an overall GPA of 4.1 and took 5 AP classes. I want to instill confidence in my students' academic abilities, as well as, an individual.

About the lesson

When setting up lessons for my students, I first have them set a goal for our session. Then, I will create a lesson with a few different ways to approach their goal because everyone learns a little bit differently. I have experience working with kids, as I am a youth volunteer cheerleading coach. My lessons are for high school chemistry, biology, and psychology classes, as well as, AP Biology and Psychology.

Sophia and I are in the same cohort for direct admit nursing, and I have the pleasure of working alongside her in my chemistry lecture, lab, and discussion. I highly recommend Sophia because she explains concepts thoughtfully and thoroughly. Her work ethic also stands out. She goes above and beyond by asking peer mentors about concepts she’s struggling with and then teaching them to me and fellow classmates. I highly recommend her as a tutor for any student!
