About Derickson
Hello everyone! I’m Derick, one of Indonesia’s Silver Medalists at the International Biology Olympiad 2026. I have been tutoring students since 2025, working with six different tutoring companies in Indonesia.
Although I have primarily taught in Indonesian, I find that English is an excellent medium for communicating biological concepts clearly and precisely. I aim to create lessons that are engaging, informative, and tailored to students of different levels and backgrounds.
I use detailed presentations, creative explanations, and systematic past-paper reviews to develop a strong understanding of Biology rather than relying on memorization. Whether you are preparing for O-Level, A-Level, or Biology Olympiads, I aim to make every lesson meaningful and help you leave with a deeper understanding of the subject.

I am an NUS Life Sciences student, IBO Silver Medalist, and Indonesian Biology Olympiad (OSN) champion with over 30 hours of tutoring experience across 6 tutoring companies in Indonesia.
My teaching focuses on genuine understanding rather than memorization. I create detailed PowerPoints, use creative explanations for complex topics, and work through past papers systematically to develop exam technique and problem-solving skills. I adapt my approach to each student and explain concepts from multiple angles until they understand them.
I specialize in Olympiad Biology preparation, but also teach O-Level and A-Level Biology students. My sessions typically run for 2–3 hours, allowing enough time to cover concepts thoroughly, practice questions, and address any areas of difficulty.
