About Shawn
My name is Shawn, and I am a dedicated and results-driven elementary educator with several years of experience supporting student growth in mathematics. Over the past two years, I have helped my 4th grade class achieve a 96% pass rate in math and my 3rd grade class reach a 94% pass rate on state assessments. I pride myself on delivering clear, structured instruction while creating a supportive learning environment where students feel confident taking risks and asking questions. I focus on building strong foundational skills, developing problem-solving strategies, and helping students explain their thinking, not just arrive at correct answers. I maintain high professional standards and work closely with families to ensure consistent progress, accountability, and long-term academic success.

My name is Shawn, and I am an experienced elementary educator who takes a structured, student-centered approach to tutoring. I begin each lesson by identifying what a student already knows and where gaps exist, then focus on targeted instruction using clear explanations, visual models, and step-by-step strategies. My sessions follow a consistent structure that includes review, focused teaching, guided practice, independent work, and reflection, allowing students to build understanding and confidence over time. What sets me apart is my ability to break down complex concepts into manageable steps while creating a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes. My tutoring is best suited for elementary students in Grades 3–5, particularly those who need support with math fundamentals, word problems, test preparation, or strengthening core academic skills.
