About Kelly
Hi, my name is Kelly and I have been teaching for 10+ years in New York City. I have experience and knowledge in the Pre-K, Kindergarten, First Grade, Second Grade and Third Grade curriculum and common core.
I have a Master's Degree and Professional Certificate in both General Education & Special Education Birth to Grade 2.
I have completed training in S.P.I.R.E Reading Intervention Program, Fundations Level K,1, and 2, Treating A Sensory- Sensitive Child, Special Education Academy, Math Matters, Essential Questions for engage Learners and many more!

My lessons are geared towards Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade students.
-I will provide individual instruction and assistance to help your child develop literacy skills by working with students in areas like phonics, comprehension, vocabulary and fluid reading.
-I will help students read fluently, comprehend what they're reading, and train them in phonetics, spelling, grammar, and vocabulary memorization.
-A typical Kindergarten* lesson plan will consist of drills sounds/ warm up (picture cards, standard sound cards, vowel extension), introduce heart words, tap our words, echo, tap out and find). Continue with writing sentences using the skills just taught, drawing a picture to match the sentence, continue with a game. Lastly, read a book based on the child's level with comprehension questions.
-Weekly running records to see the child's progress in reading, phonics and writing.
