About John
Before attending New York University, I have worked as a tutor since I was fifteen years old. I began tutoring at a volunteer organization named New Haven Reads in New Haven, Connecticut. Here, I tutored underprivileged New Haven students in literacy. I volunteered at New Haven Reads until I was nineteen years old. In addition to my experience at New Haven Reads, I tutored at Hopkins School in New Haven through a program called Pathfinder. Pathfinder is a program where students are tutored for the SSAT. I tutored New Haven students for three total years at Pathfinder.
In addition to these experiences, I was a teaching fellow at an additional Pathfinder related program. I taught a class of thirty eighth graders on my own for two months. In addition to my teaching, I worked with a mentor who gave teaching-related advice.
My tutoring/teaching experience continued in New York as I have taught elementary schoolers about environmental science in Brooklyn at PS295. I teach weekly.

I have had exceptional experiences tutoring students of all ages. I can work well with students ranging from all kinds of skill sets. I am a patient and flexible individual who can cater to the needs of any individual.
An ordinary lesson plan will vary according to the student, yet I will track progress in a lesson by assigning relevant work to a student. This work may be difficult, but I will use it as a measurement of their knowledge. The actual lesson will be an application of these skills. The lesson will end with an exit ticket of the skills learned within the lesson!
