About Emily

I have teaching qualifications in math grades 7-12, general science, and senior chemistry and biology.

I’ve worked with kids, ages k-12, for over 6 years, and now I teach full time in the Toronto district school board. My tutoring sessions are engaging and stimulating for students, and I Walsh make sure to tailor my teaching style and practice to my student’s needs.

About the lesson

During the very first tutoring session I have with a student, I require them to complete a diagnostic assessment to evaluate what level they’re at with the subject. From there, I provide weekly review lessons followed by a series of related questions of increasing difficulty to build a strong foundational understanding, but also critical problem-solving skills for higher-order thinking.

Emily is a very qualified and passionate about the subjects she teaches. She has helped me on countless English essays and I have always done well on those papers. She is patient and understanding when working with me. I always feel satisfied with the work I'm handing in whenever Emily helps me! If I ever need help she is always available to be there to support me. I'm so thankful that I got such a supportive tutor like her to always give me the best guidance and assistance on my work.

Emily has been a fantastic math and science tutor for my two high school aged sons. She is attentive and professional, and frankly the results of my son’s improvement in their grades speaks for itself!
