About Maia

I would love to teach music theory lessons as I have always had a passion for music from a young age and being able to read music I think is a skill to value for life. I love to see how a harmony and music comes together as a whole just from one singular note. I would be grateful to share my knowledge with others and gain this incredible skill and achievement. My aim is to help students become more confident in their musical abilities, whether they are just starting out or progressing their existing skills. More importantly, I want my lessons to be fun and interesting to make learning have excitement to it as well as teaching people that music theory isn't just about rules but it's a tool to express themselves and can potentially lead to them being able to write amazing music themselves.

About the lesson

Usually I tend to use different methods depending on how the student likes to learn. I normally start off new students with a small test with no pressure, just so I can gauge an understanding of their knowledge level. Lessons would be from 30 mins-60 mins long as that would be a suitable amount of time to get through content and then let the student apply what they have learnt. I also like to have a small recap on the previous lesson to keep the knowledge they already learnt fresh in their head. I have tutored piano theory before for a year so I have some experience in online tutoring, therefore I have a structure that works well. The lessons are for anyone that would love to learn music theory or would like to progress in grades.
