About Lily
Hi, I’m Lily! I’m a clarinettist and teacher and recently completed my studies at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, having previously trained at a specialist music school. I began learning the clarinet at a young age, so I understand what it’s like to grow up with music as a central part of life. Alongside teaching, I’m an active performer and have played as a soloist and orchestral clarinettist in venues including Wigmore Hall and Cadogan Hall, as well as on BBC Radio 3. I believe the most important part of learning an instrument is remembering why we play in the first place…to enjoy music, have fun, and feel confident expressing ourselves.

I focus on building strong technique alongside musical understanding, helping students develop good practice habits and confidence from the start. Having trained in specialist music schools myself, I understand the pressures of exams and performances and aim to make lessons supportive, motivating, and enjoyable. Whether working towards grades or learning for pleasure, I encourage steady progress while fostering a genuine love of music.
