About Lucien

I'm a 2021 graduate from Unimelb, majoring in Computer Science. I hold quite a successful academic track record, having attained the NCP Scholarship and the Dean's Honors List (3rd year) awards. Fast forward to today, I've been working in the software industry for over 4 years now. Over my professional career, I've worked on a multitude of fields, including aviation systems, graphics engines, reporting dashboards/surveys as well as banking software. Beyond my academic and professional life, I'm just a simple guy, trying to make his way through the years. I like to play games (and yes, I like designing/coding games in my spare time), I also love karaoke, and I'm always there if it means having a good time. Finally, I tend to sway slightly towards a more buddy-like teaching style, as I find that such demeanor allows students to be more comfortable and hence more confident in my lessons. Hence, bringing out their full potential!

About the lesson

My teaching style involves a hands-on learning approach where I focus on maintaining a balance between teaching and practical work.

Through 2 years of private tutoring and having taught as an academic tutor at Unimelb, I have adopted my teaching style over time to adapt to the specific student's needs and skills.

Additionally, having had over 4 years of professional experience as a software engineer, I am more than capable of giving advice to the student regarding how certain problems are tackled in the context of the IT/software industry.

A typical lesson plan will be catered based on the student's needs.

A general outline would look like the following:
- Revision and homework review (15 min)
- Teaching and practical work (35 min)
- Q&A and subject/career advice (5 min)
- Homework/project specs and explanation (5 min)

- Anyone interested in learning more about programming/software
