About Alexey

Hi, I’m Alex, a math and physics tutor from Russia. I have 5 years of online tutoring experience and 1 year of experience teaching physics at HSE Lyceum, a selective school connected to HSE University in Moscow.

I studied at the Faculty of Physics at HSE University and graduated from a specialized physics and mathematics lyceum in Siberia. I have participated in and won academic olympiads in Russia, including olympiads whose winners can enter Russian universities without entrance exams. I scored 100/100 in physics and 96/100 in math on the Russian state exam (EGE).

I teach math and physics to middle and high school students. I can help with school topics, advanced math and physics, exam preparation, and challenging problems.

I work with students from different countries, including the US. I’m happy to learn about your school curriculum and adapt my lessons to your needs. I teach online in both Russian and English.

About the lesson

Who they’re for: I teach middle and high school students who study math (arithmetic, algebra, geometry) and physics. You can come if you need help catching up, want to understand the subject better, or want harder problems, like olympiad-style tasks.

My approach: I teach in a clear and structured way. I use good textbooks and explain things step by step on an online whiteboard. My goal is that you really understand the subject, not just learn tricks for tests. When you understand, you can solve many different problems, even new ones, and tests become easier. I change the speed and difficulty for each student.

A typical lesson:

1. Check the last topic and homework
2. Learn a new idea with simple examples
3. Solve problems, from easy to hard
4. Short summary and homework for next time
