About Akmal
Hi, I’m Akmal, a Computer Science undergraduate with an international academic background, having studied abroad throughout my life and completed both my IGCSEs and A-levels.
I’ve been passionate about programming from a young age, which naturally led me to pursue a degree in Computer Science. Over the years, I’ve developed strong skills in Python and continue to expand my knowledge by learning languages such as C++ and C#. I also have experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, giving me a well-rounded foundation in both programming and web development.
My academic journey through the IGCSE and A-level system allows me to understand the challenges students face, especially when it comes to grasping abstract concepts in Computer Science. Because of this, I focus on explaining topics in a clear, structured, and relatable way.
I take a professional and patient approach to teaching, aiming to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident asking questions and developing their understanding. My goal is not just to help students improve their grades, but to build a strong foundation and genuine interest in the subject.

My teaching approach focuses on making Computer Science simple, logical, and easy to understand. I break down complex topics like algorithms, pseudocode, and programming into small, clear steps so students can actually follow the reasoning instead of just memorizing content.
I usually start by identifying what the student already understands, then build from there using explanations, examples, and guided practice. I also emphasize problem-solving skills, since that’s key to doing well in Computer Science—especially for exams.
For exam-based students (IGCSE and A-level), I incorporate past paper questions and teach how to approach them effectively, including common question patterns and answering techniques.
How My Lessons Work:
Lessons are typically 1 hour long and conducted online. During lessons, I use screen sharing to explain concepts, walk through examples, and solve questions together with the student. I also provide practice questions and explanations to reinforce learning.
My Background:
I have completed my A-levels and am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. While I may not have formal teaching certifications, I have strong subject knowledge and focus on explaining concepts clearly and patiently in a way that students can understand.
My lessons are suitable for:

- Beginners learning programming or basic computer science concepts
