About Ranya

Hallo, ich bin die Ranya! I have a deep appreciation for the German language as well as the culture and I’d love to pass my passion along to other people. Although I study Biological and Biomedical Sciences in Trinity, I’ve always had an affinity for languages. I’m taking German as an elective next year. My teaching methods are more so tailored towards people with beginner level German (A1-B2), but I’m also happy to prepare Junior and Leaving Cert students to achieve the highest possible grade they can.

About the lesson

Each lesson is tailored differently for my students. Based on the free lesson, I’ll create a cohesive plan that is personalized to the learner. What makes my lessons unique in particular is that I incorporate engaging exercises in the plan that fit various learning styles, including listening and translating German music and reading German news together. I accommodate students who are more exam-focused too, these lessons are oriented mainly around reading comprehensions and grammar exercises. I’ll ensure to cover all aspects of the language, including the verbal, aural and the written.

Perfect! Learning German with Ranya is like watching Arnold Schwarzenegger dominate bodybuilding—nobody does it better. Her optimistic, refreshing, and adaptive approach to teaching has truly propelled me forward in my German language journey, which is quite an achievement. Even though I might be considered a "natürlich," I occasionally struggle with specific areas of the language. Ranya always quickly identifies these trouble spots and adjusts the material accordingly, ensuring there are no gaps in my knowledge.

Her teaching is tailored to move me forward at a steady and satisfying pace, focusing not only on the language itself but also on exploring fascinating aspects of German culture. Ranya has a natural talent for teaching languages, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking to learn German.

Ranya is renowned since primary school for her curiosity for & determination to apply new knowledge. She particularly thrives on building connections between subjects and languages. In particular her approach to learning Irish inspired me to take more interest in the language. As her parents never learned Irish it was undoubtedly more challenging for her to take it up as her 3rd language yet she continued to excel all through secondary school. She is an empathetic & patient teacher as shown by her application of these same techniques to learn German. Furthermore, she has recently begun learning French & Spanish. I would highly recommend Ranya given her extensive experience with languages, her innovative approaches to learning & her strong work ethic.
