About Ján
I am a professional computer science teacher from Slovakia with a long background in the IT industry. Before becoming a full-time educator, I spent many years working as a Java developer and database specialist, which allows me to combine real-world technical experience with solid pedagogical skills. Students can rely on my professionalism, structured approach, and ability to explain even complex topics in a clear and understandable way.
I have previously tutored many learners and I am known for being patient, communicative, and detail-oriented. I always aim to create a supportive and motivating learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and progressing at their own pace.
Although English is not my native language, my level of English is fully sufficient for effective communication during lessons, and I regularly teach students who prefer English as their working language.
My goal is to help every student build confidence, understand the subject deeply, and achieve measurable progress.

My tutoring approach is strongly influenced by my 20 years of professional experience as a Java developer and database specialist. Throughout my career, I worked not only on programming tasks but also on system design and relational database management. I bring this real-world experience directly into my lessons, using practical examples and scenarios that help students understand how things work in real IT projects.
Teaching method and techniques:
I always start from the basics and adapt the pace to the student’s level and goals. I explain concepts clearly, step by step, and support them with examples from practice. During lessons, I use Microsoft Teams with remote desktop sharing and the IntelliJ IDEA development environment on Windows, so students can see real coding workflows and tools used in the industry.
Typical lesson plan:
I usually begin with a brief review of previous material and then introduce the new topic in a structured way. From there, I adjust the lesson according to the student’s needs — whether they prefer guided explanations, solving tasks together, or working independently with my support. The lesson ends with a short summary and optional practice tasks.
