About Calvin
Calvin is a passionate and experienced voice teacher, singer, and researcher. He works with students from a wide range of educational, musical, and social backgrounds, and enjoys working with students who sing music from a wide range of genres.
Every voice is unique and requires a different approach to training. Calvin's specialist knowledge of vocal anatomy and function allows him to skilfully diagnose vocal-technical issues and help guide students to vocal efficiency using individualised and sensitive approaches.

Calvin holds a Bachelor's degree in Classical Performance (Voice) and a Master's degree in Studio Pedagogy (Voice). He is also a PhD candidate in Speech Science (Singing voice analysis). Calvin is therefore uniquely qualified to offer a range of services, including classical and CCM singing lessons, speech and fluency training, efficiency for the speaking voice, and breathing techniques for singing and speech.
Calvin has taught singing for over a decade and specialises in non-genre-specific vocal function. This approach encourages students to develop awareness and coordination of their voices, facilitating healthy and effective voice use whether they're singing opera, musical theatre, or pop.
While lessons are usually directed to adult learners, younger learners will be considered if they can demonstrate a reasonable level of responsibility and communicative skills. Students of all proficiency levels are welcome.
