About Marcin

My name is Marcin Krysa and for more than 20 years I’ve been improving my playing the piano. I’m a graduate of Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, studying with one of the greatest pedagogues in Poland - prof. Wojciech Świtała (member of The Program Board of the Fryderyk Chopin Institute). In 2019 I have also finished postgraduate studies in his class. Since 2015 I have been co-organising International Piano Masterclasses in Katowice, which is held by local Academy.

Playing the piano is my passion I want to share with others. I have professional pedagogical and psychological preparation and experience in working in State Music School and Academy of Music in Katowice which make me able to share my knowledge with both advanced pianists and beginners.

During my many years’ education I had an opportunity to play many concerts in Poland (Chopin Manor House in Duszniki Zdrój, Paderewski Manor House in Kąśna Dolna and others) and abroad (Paso Robles, California - The 2012 Paderewski Festival). I am a laureate of numerous international piano competitions in Poland. During my studies I had a pleasure to improve my skills working with prof. Joanna Domańska (President on The Karol Szymanowski Music Society) and prof. Urszula Stańczyk (many years’ pedagogue in Mozarteum - Salzburg). I have also participated in many masterclasses working with . prof. Alicja Paleta-Bugaj, prof. Grzegorz Kurzyński, prof. Philippe Giusiano, prof.Thamas Ungar, prof. Lee Kum Sing, prof. Zbigniewa Raubo, or prof. Andrzej Jasiński.

About the lesson

I OFFER:

- help in regular practicing for pupils and students: tips in how to work efficiently on a piece of music, help in dealing with technical problems, correction of bad hand position, looking for freedom while playing the piano, work on better quality of sound, looking for individual interpretation, teaching how to analyze the form of a piece, improving sensitivity and harmonic hearing, tips how to deal with stress and public performances

- consultations before entrance exams and competitions: help in preparing the pieces as good as possible, help in better understanding of harmony, ear training lessons

- lessons for beginners (both kids and adults): teaching of notes reading, professional position of hand during playing the piano, improving musicality, musical education (ear training, harmony, history of music)
